Google and Amazon want in on the microdrama craze
But can they make it sizzle?

Microdramas are booming, and some of tech's biggest companies don’t want to be left behind: Both Google and Amazon have taken first steps to add the soapy short-form storytelling format, with its one-to-two minute episodes and high-octane storytelling full of hooks and cliffhangers, to their products.
Both companies are at least for now staying clear of some of the more questionable business practices often employed by microdrama services. But as they try to play it safe, Google and Amazon also risk shying away from what makes microdramas so successful in the first place.
